From Graphite to Optical Vector
A software font is cold; a hand-spaced layout is alive. I spent today sketching layout options for the Acharya heirloom collection using raw graphite. The curvature of the typography must flow with the wood grain lines, not clash with them.
The fibers of seasoned teak have varying densities across annual growth rings. When the laser cross-sections a growth ring, the width of the letter stroke must adapt slightly. We tweak the kerning manually, letter by letter.
Timeless Roman Flairs & Kannada Calligraphy
We settled on a custom Roman serif with slightly flared terminals. It echoes traditional stone-carving heritage, ensuring the final heirloom feels permanently anchored in time.
Each family crest is proofed against three lighting angles before the final cutting path is computed.
